🧭 Claude Certified Architect — Anthropic Launches Its First Technical Certification

Anthropic launched the Claude Certified Architect (CCA) Foundations exam on March 12, its first official technical certification for engineers building production-grade Claude applications. The proctored exam covers 60 questions on a 100–1,000 scale, with a passing score of 720. It is designed to validate an engineer's ability to design, evaluate, and operate Claude integrations at enterprise scale — covering prompt engineering, context management, tool use, agent orchestration, safety guardrails, and cost optimisation. The first 5,000 employees within the Claude Partner Network receive free early access.

What the CCA Foundations exam tests

Roadmap: Anthropic confirmed seller, developer, and advanced architect certifications are planned later in 2026. The Foundations exam is the entry point — worth pursuing now to establish credibility ahead of the broader certification programme launch.

🧭 Claude Now Generates Inline Charts, Diagrams & Interactive Inputs

Anthropic rolled out the ability for Claude to generate inline visual aids — charts, graphs, diagrams, and structured illustrations — directly inside Claude.ai conversations, rendered as HTML and SVG without requiring any external tool or plugin. Claude can also ask structured questions using interactive multiple-choice inputs embedded in the conversation thread. The feature is available at no additional cost to all Claude.ai users and works across web, desktop, and mobile.

What you can generate in a conversation

Best prompt pattern: give Claude the data or concept explicitly, then specify the chart type and any labelling you need. For example: "Draw a bar chart comparing these five API response times: [data]. Label the x-axis with endpoint names and the y-axis in milliseconds." The more specific the instruction, the cleaner the output.

🧭 Pentagon Labels Claude a "Supply-Chain Threat" — Anthropic Files Suit

On March 12, Pentagon CTO Emil Michael publicly stated that Anthropic's Claude would "pollute" the defence supply chain because its safety policies constitute "a different policy preference" baked into the model. The designation — formally classifying Anthropic as a national security supply-chain risk — was unprecedented: historically, the label had been reserved for foreign adversaries such as Huawei. Under the designation, US defence contractors were required to certify non-use of Claude across their operations. Anthropic filed a legal challenge the same day, arguing the designation was unconstitutional retaliation for the company's published AI safety commitments.

Why this moment matters

For enterprise developers: if your organisation operates in the defence supply chain and uses Claude, review your compliance obligations under the designation while the legal challenge proceeds. The Claude API remains available for all commercial and non-defence government use cases unaffected by the designation.
