Claude Apps — Anthropic Launches Interactive Mini-Applications Built and Run by Claude
Anthropic has launched Claude Apps, a new feature that enables Claude to build and run shareable interactive mini-applications directly within the Claude.ai interface. Rather than simply generating code that a user must then deploy, Claude Apps produces fully functional, interactive outputs — charts, forms, calculators, data visualisations, and workflow tools — that can be run in-browser, shared via link, and embedded in other services. TechCrunch reports the launch as a significant step toward Claude becoming a tool for creating and distributing functional software rather than just generating text about it.
Workplace integrations at launch
Claude Apps launches with integrations for five major workplace platforms, accessible through a new app directory at claude.ai/directory:
- Slack — Claude-built apps can post messages, read channel history, and trigger workflows in connected Slack workspaces; Claude can build a custom Slack bot to spec and deploy it in minutes
- Figma — Claude can read Figma files to extract design tokens, component specs, and layout data, and generate code or documentation derived directly from the design
- Canva — Claude Apps can populate Canva templates with generated content, enabling rapid creation of branded marketing materials from text prompts
- Asana — Claude can read and write Asana projects, creating tasks, updating statuses, and generating project summaries from live project data
- Box — integration with Box enables Claude to read, summarise, and generate documents stored in Box, with write-back capability for approved document types
How Claude Apps work
- Build on demand — users describe the app they need in plain language; Claude writes, runs, and hosts the app within the claude.ai environment
- Shareable links — completed apps can be shared via a link; recipients can interact with the app without a Claude subscription, within usage limits set by the creator
- Pro and Max tiers — Claude Apps is available to Pro ($20/month) and Max ($100+/month) subscribers; free plan users can interact with shared apps but cannot create new ones
